ONTARIO CLIPPERS FALL TO COLLEGE PARK SKYHAWKS IN SHOWCASE CUP QUARTERFINALS

ORLANDO Fla., December 19, 2023 – The Ontario Clippers (9-6) fell to the College Park Skyhawks (10-5) 100-87 in the Showcase Cup Tournament Quarterfinals on Tuesday night at Orange County Convention Center.

The Clippers grabbed an early lead in the first quarter, but were unable to maintain and ended up trailing for the rest of the game. Despite the loss, Jordan Miller was dynamic on the court recording his third consecutive 20-plus point game, ending the night with 28 points and seven rebounds. Brodric Thomas also had a strong performance with 13 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Xavier Moon added 12 points and four assists. 

The Clippers attempted to comeback after halftime, outscoring the Skyhawks 30-19 in third quarter. They were led by Jordan Miller who recorded 12 points on four-of-six shooting from the field, but they were unable to pass the Skyhawks going into the final frame. 

The Skyhawks, led by Brandon Randolph, outscored the Clippers 28-21 in the fourth to secure the victory. Randolph ended the night with a team-high 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Keaton Wallace also contributed 14 points, seven rebounds and seven assist. They’ll go on to play the Indiana Mad Ants in the semifinals.
