IESportNet Must Watch Games of Week 2

  • Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nevada) vs. Corona Centennial September 12th 7:30 pm @ Centennial High School Corona, CA.

In a matchup between two powerhouse high school football programs, undefeated Bishop Gorman of Las Vegas, Nevada will travel to Corona, CA to take on the Corona Centennial Huskies. Bishop Gorman comes into the game having a diverse schedule so far with their first three games of the season having been played from teams of different states (Arizona, Utah, and California). This will not be Bishop Gorman’s first trip to California either; for on August 29th they dominated a talented Servite team by the score of 48-27 on the road, as well as defeated the top ranked Utah High School team Max Preps Bingham High in a close game 23-20. On the other side, Corona Centennial bounced back from an embarrassing 38-18 output against Mater Dei by beating Orange Lutheran in a thriller 52-49. Corona Centennial’s defense, led by leading tacklers Junior and Senior Linebackers Zach Brumbaugh and Jamal Gooman, will have to be well prepared in order to stop Bishop Gorman’s explosive running attack. They average 229.3 yards per game and are led by Senior Running Back Russell Booze, who has 283 rushing yards and 6 Rushing TD’s entering the contest.

  • Rancho Cucamonga vs. Bishop Amat September 12th 7:00pm @ Bishop Amat High School

Rancho Cucamonga Cougars are attempting to keep their undefeated season alive while traveling on the road and taking on a tough Bishop Amat Lancers team in their own house. The Cougars are coming off an instant classic in which they came back and outscored Norco 18-7 in the final quarter and walked away with a 1-point victory 42-41. The Lancers came away with a much needed 42-7 win last week when they traveled to Texas to take on Aledo High School, after losing their season opener to Santa Margarita 26-14.

  • Rancho Verde vs. Great Oak September 12th 7:00pm @ Great Oak High School

In a showdown of unbeaten teams, the 2-0 Rancho Verde Mustangs travel to Temecula, CA for the first road game of the season to battle the 2-0 Great Oak Wolfpack. After the Mustangs last minute victory in Week 0 they looked exceptional last week in their 59-16 win against Murrieta Mesa. Great Oak won a close game against Riverside King last week by a score of 27-21. Will Rancho Verde’s impressive offensive attack, which is averaging 48 points a game, be able to keep up that offensive output on the road against a defense that has only given up 42 points so far in the season?
