FORD SCORES 27 BUT CLIPS DROP FINALE TO SWARM

Orlando, FL – The Agua Caliente Clippers (5-10) fall to the Greensboro Swarm (5-10), 109-105, on Saturday night, putting an end to their 2021 campaign.

With the game tied at 105 with 19.7 seconds remaining in regulation, a costly foul before the ball was inbounded set Greensboro up for a free throw plus possession. After hitting the freebie and an Agua Caliente intentional foul, the Swarm hit two more at the line to push their lead up to three. The Clippers had a chance to tie on the following possession but James Palmer Jr.’s three-point attempt didn’t fall and the Swarm put the game out of reach with more free throws.

Multiple bright spots stood out for the Clippers in the loss, led by Jordan Ford’s career-high 27 points and eight assists and fellow Gael Malik Fitts’ 21 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. In his first start for Agua Caliente, Emmitt Williams put up a big 21-point, 11 rebounds. Emanuel Terry added a huge night on the boards, collecting 17 rebounds to go along with eight points.

The Greensboro Swarm were led by Kobi Simmons 23 points and nine assists and Nick Richard’s double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. Nate Darling added 17 points, including five from distance.
