JOHNATHAN MOTLEY NAMED G-LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The NBA G League today announced that Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario forward Johnathan Motley has been named the G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, December 10 through Sunday, December 16.

Motley led the Clippers to a 2-0 record during the week, extending their current winning streak to three games, while averaging 34.5 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in addition to shooting splits of 62.9 percent from the field and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line. His 18 made free-throws on 22 attempts against the Erie BayHawks on December 13 were both career-highs and G League season-highs.
    
In 14 games this season (13 starts), Motley is averaging a team-best 26.5 points, along with 11.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists while shooting 57.8 percent from the field. He ranks fifth in the G League in scoring and 10th in rebounding and is the only player in the G League averaging 25+ points, 10+ rebounds and 3+ assists this season.

This is the second G League Player of the Week award for Motley, who also earned the honor for games played Monday, November 19 through Sunday, November 25, 2018. He was named G League Player of the Month in January 2018 as a member of the Texas Legends.

Now in his second pro season, Motley was acquired by the affiliate L.A. Clippers from the Dallas Mavericks via trade on July 23, 2018. He is currently playing on a two-way contract with L.A. and Agua Caliente
