Game of the Week

While it may not technically qualify as a cross-town rivalry, don’t tell the players from Etiwanda or Summit that.  When these two teams meet on the football field, regardless of talent on either side, neither team truly has an advantage.  This is clearly evident in the record books, which currently stand at 3-3-1.  Many of these kids either played youth football together, or are on travel passing league teams.

This year’s game took on a new title, “Fight For The 15.”  A reference to the fact that the Interstate 15 sits right in the middle of the two campuses, which are only about 3 miles away from one another.

As in years past, this proved to be a highly competitive game.  But with standouts, running back Stephen Carr (a USC commit, 180 yards rushing, 3 touchdowns), quarterback Cade Sparks, receiver Damien Alloway (89 yards receiving) on the Summit side; it was just too much for quarterback Andrew Kanatsky (234 yards passing), running back Kamari Pleasant (41 yards rushing, 1 touchdown), receiver Noah Gutierrez (121 yards receiving, 1 touchdown) and Etiwanda to overcome, eventually falling to Summit 48-35.
