TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (8-6-0-2) face the Idaho Steelheads (11-4-1-0) in the final match of their three-game set against Idaho, which represents the middle leg of the team’s season-high nine-game road trip. Each club has split the first two games, although the Steelheads hold the edge in the season series by virtue of their 4-1 win at Citizens Business Bank Arena in October.

BLACKWATER BUZZING:
After a long-awaited period, veteran forward Judd Blackwater finally had a breakout game for Ontario, recording two goals and an assist on Thursday night, while picking up the game-winning tally, which also stands as his 100th career goal in the professional ranks. He also has three goals in two games, with his first of the season coming on Wednesday.

CARZO HAS STEELHEADS BAITED AND HOOKED:
Rocco Carzo’s two goals on Thursday gives him five on the season; he had also recorded a goal in Ontario’s 4-1 home loss on Oct. 25, meaning 60 percent of his scoring has come at the expense of Idaho.

SPURGEON HITS CENTURY MARK FOR ASSISTS:
Tyler Spurgeon’s assist on Thursday that came on Blackwater’s first-period goal to open the scoring for Ontario represents his 100th career pro assist.

POWER-PLAYS WON’T COME EASY:
Thursday’s match proved to be the second time this season that the Reign have faced the Steelheads and did not draw a single power-play opportunity against their opponent. Although there were plenty of infractions called on both sides, anytime Idaho had a penalty, it was negated by a Reign penalty as well.

Ontario’s power-play percentage currently ranks 15th in the ECHL, operating at a 17 percent clip, while the Steelheads have continued to suffer with the man advantage, only converting on 10.1 percent of their chances.
