Dikymbe Martin Pours In A Career-High 30 As UC Riverside Men’s Basketball Upends Valparaiso 73-60

Riverside—Dikymbe Martin scored a career-high 30 points, and Chance Murray chipped in 16 as the UC Riverside Men’s Basketball Team (4-7) never trailed in a 73-60 victory over visiting Valparaiso (9-4).

Tied at two, UC Riverside scored the next 10 points and 18 of the next 21 to take a double-digit lead. They extended that advantage to as many as 23, and the Crusaders never got closer than 11 in the second half.

GAME NOTES
Dikymbe Martin was outscoring the entire Valparaiso lineup for most of the first half. He ended up with 14 at intermission, compared to 19 for the Crusaders.

Martin scored a career-high 30 points, reaching double figures for the seventh time this season. It is also his third game of 20 or more points this year.

The last member of the Highlanders to score 30 or more points in a game prior to Martin Wednesday night, was Taylor Johns who netted 31 vs. Morgan State on December 30, 2014.

Chance Murray scored in double figures (16) for the sixth time this season.

UC Riverside went 31 for 42 from the free throw line. The last time the Highlanders made more than 31 free throws in a game was on March 1, 2014 vs. CSUN when they connected on 34. The last time they took more than 42 was on December 1, 2012 when they attempted 45 vs. Northern Colorado.

Valparaiso took 32 three-pointers on the night. The last time a UC Riverside opponent took more than 32 threes, was back on February 4, 2017 when Cal Poly tied the program record with 37.
