Clippers Fall To Memphis In Last Second Thriller

Ontario, CA–The Agua Caliente Clippers fell to the Memphis Hustle 94-93 on Thursday night at Citizen Business Bank Arena. Hustle guard Marquis Teague hit two free throws with 2.9 seconds left to go up by one point and grab the win. With the loss, the Clippers slipped to 6-5 on the season.

“We came out in the second half and played harder,” said Clippers’ head coach Casey Hill. “This was our first time playing the same team in a back-to-back. We came out flat and Memphis made us pay for it.”

The Hustle wasted no time out of the gate, quickly establishing a 10-point lead in the opening minutes of the first quarter. The Clippers managed to overcome a 23-point deficit in the first half and take the lead briefly in the third quarter before heading into the final period of play.

Clippers guard Tyrone Wallace had another solid offensive outing, leading the Clippers with 28 points, including back-to-back dunks in the fourth quarter to cut into the Memphis lead. LaDontae Henton added 18 points and six rebounds, while center Marshall Plumlee recorded a double-double, with 11 points and 10 rebounds..

The Clippers take on the South Bay Lakers on Saturday in a 7 p.m. tip in El Segundo.
