Agua Caliente Clippers Recap: December 23, 2017

Des Moines, IA—The Agua Caliente Clippers fell to the Iowa Wolves 107-102 at Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday night. With the loss, the Clippers’ three-game winning streak was snapped and they slipped to 12-8 on the season.

In an evenly matched first half, the Clippers used 12 points apiece from J.J. O’Brien and Tyrone Wallace to take a one point lead into the break. The Wolves looked poised to take the win in the third quarter however, stretching their lead to as many as 11.

The Clippers managed to pull within two points in the fourth quarter, and a three-point play from Ike Iroegbu put them up by one, but the Wolves responded, going on a 9-2 run to grab the win and even the season series to one game apiece.

Wallace led all scorers with 28 points, including a 7-for-7 effort from the free throw line. Andre Dawkins went 4-for-8 from deep while contributing 16 points, while Brice Johnson and O’Brien each added 14. Iroegbu added 11 off the bench and Marshall Plumlee nearly missed a double-double, scoring eight points to go with 11 boards.

The Clippers return home to take on the Reno Bighorns at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Tuesday in a 7 p.m. tip. Fans can stay up-to-date on team news by following the team on Twitter (@ACClippers) or visiting ACClippers.com.
