Agua Caliente Clippers Game Recap 11/10/17

Ontario, CA—LaDontae Henton hit two free throws with 2.9 seconds left to play to push the Clippers to a 118-117 win over the Texas Legends on Friday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena. For the Clippers, it was their third straight win.

Despite taking a 60-51 lead into the halftime break, the Clippers trailed by as many as 10 points in the fourth quarter. With 53 seconds left on the game clock, Tyrone Wallace hit a free throw to spark a 9-2 Clippers run. Two missed free throws from Legends Gian Clavell put the ball back into the Clippers hands with seven seconds to play.

“I tried to look at those free throws like any other ones,” said Henton. “I’ve been in that spot before so I just tried to stay calm at the line. It was nice to get a win at home.”

Eight Clippers scored in double figures, with Tyler Roberson leading the way, as he poured in 18 points to go with eight rebounds. Tyrone Wallace added 17 points, while Henton and Andre Dawkins each contributed 15, including a 50% effort from deep from Dawkins.

“Both us and Texas have the ability to go up ten points or down ten points pretty quickly,” said Dawkins. “We did a good job of getting the shots that we wanted down the stretch.”

The Clippers hit the road to take on the Santa Cruz Warriors tomorrow night in a 7 p.m. tip-off. Watch the game on Facebook.com/nbagleague.
